Charlies 1st Birthday Party

image
I can’t quite believe my little bear is ONE. It’s crazy how much he’s altered in just one week of him turning 1. He’s is so much for confident in climbing and crawling now and seems to have really transitioned from a baby to a toddler. I recently published he’s monthly milestones pictures if you wanted to have a little look and see how he grew over the year click here.

So turning One is obviously a biggy so I had to make it a fun lovely day for our boy. I know I’m so typical and could only comprehend black and white party wear but it looked great and Charlie couldn’t tell me what he wanted so I chose…. That’s only fair right? Hehe!

So only black white and grey were invited to his party and I was so over the moon with the outcome.

Charlies Party wear:

All Charlie’s party wear was bought from the fab online store Cissywears. I really loved the simplicity of it all and all the products I bought were such brilliant quality. I’d always seen images on Pinterest of beautiful birthday decor and I tried to incorporate all the images of seen and create my own vision. I didn’t need to do much really as the products speak for themselves. You can shop here at cissywears for all your party wear needs.

Charlie’s light box light was bought from A little lovely company. It is such a fab item to have. I use it at almost every occasion and it always looks great. You can shop these here.

Charlie’s Cake:

I have a confession to make…. I didn’t make the cake. I genuinely feel awful about this but I just found that I had no time to do it all this year. I feel even worse because spent so much time on Frankies first birthday cake. I made him a Mickey Mouse head cake but the icing went grey instead of black so he was called Grandpa Mickey. But with the demands of two babies and organising everything I had a mum fail I admit and bought the cake from M&S. I tweaked it a little though. It originally came with colourful stars all over it so I took the icing off and rolled out some plain icing and put it on the top to create the final look. Not forgetting his little Schliech friends and his got gorgeous ONE cake topper from ‘Not on the high street’. You can shop this here.

Charlie’s Presents:

Being so close to Christmas we didn’t go all out in the presents this year, also for the fact that my children have a stupid amount if you’d that they never play with so we kept it simple and personal this year.

The toy box was made by myself. I painted it white, added a cushion top to it and hand painted the number 1 on. I made Frankie a toy box for his first birthday so it was only right I made Charlie one too.

We also decided to keep up tradition and take Charlie to the aquarium like we did on Franks. They both had a lovely day together.

I dont know what it is about birthdays but I absolutely hate putting them to bed on their birthday night. So I got into bed with Charlie and we read books and had lots of cuddles until he fell asleep. I didn’t want to miss s minute of his birthday with him ♡
