Pop of pink || My Kitchen Makeover

Hey guys,

So as you all probably have gathered by now my life and home is monochrome mad! We moved in June and I did my best to make the kitchen look good but something was always missing and it just didn’t feel inviting. It is quite a dark kitchen as the sun is mostly on the opposite side of the house so I felt that the black and white wasn’t lifting the room at all.

I have always had a love of pink, which originally started in my room when I visited IKEA for the first time. The rose bedding changed my life and had it all the way through my teen years. I was obsessed with pink but as I grew older I fell out of live with it a it as it became a little ‘tacky’.

My style has grown and changed a lot and white is a big part of my home style.

I visited friends last week and there home was filled with warmth and I’ve and just had a great family vibe about it. Instantly I knew I had to put some pops of pink into my kitchen to warm it up.

I found such a fab shop called Tiger and could have left with no bank balance at all! Luckily Tom was with me to rain me in much to my annoyance…. At the time!

I bought the copper bowl for £2.00 each and a few of the other pieces on my shelves from there for no more than 3 each! I love a good bargain!

The LOVE print on the wall was designed by myself. I wanted to have a print that complimented the room but without being too over powering and I feel this really works and I’m so happy with the outcome.

I’m looking to buy a larger table in the long run but I just covered my original one with this beautiful lace cloth from IKEA.

Everything that dresses the table is from IKEA. I wanted to still keep my a soft feeling too it, thus why I have introduced the grey and soft pink. The bottoms shelf were I have started collecting books will eventually new filled with cook book.

Since changing the kitchen we have spent so much more time in it as a family and it really has changed into the hub of the house which is exactly what I wanted to achieve.

It may not stay in line with my monochrome theme but the rest of the rooms in the house work along side that theme but the kitchen has been tweekd a little.
I hope you all like it, I’d love to know your thoughts. Are you thinking or undergoing a makeover in your house?

Love Gracie xo
